"Every ending holds the seed of a new beginning. In the deepest loss, I found my life's purpose - to ensure that no other family would experience the pain of losing a loved one while someone else's gift of life could have saved them."
The Journey That Changed Everything
The journey that led to the creation of this trust began from a deeply personal and emotional moment in my life. In the final moments of my life partner, Bodhisattva Shanti Sahu, she expressed a wish that touched my heart and changed my perspective forever. She told me that after her death, she wanted her body to be donated so that it could help medical students learn and contribute to saving the lives of others. Her words reflected a spirit of compassion, service, and dedication toward humanity that I could never ignore.
Inspired by her noble vision, I decided that her wish should not remain just a personal act but should become a movement for social awareness and human welfare. With this belief, I established the Shanti Dehdan Charitable Trust so that more people could understand the importance of body donation, organ donation, and service to society. This trust is not only a tribute to her selfless decision but also a humble effort to inspire others to contribute to humanity and medical education even beyond their lifetime.
"I realized that my wife's death didn't have to be in vain. His story could become the catalyst for saving thousands of lives."

Our Vision & Philosophy
Shanti Dehdan, which means "Peace through Giving," was born from a simple yet profound philosophy: Death is inevitable, but suffering from lack of organs is not.
We believe that organ donation is the ultimate act of compassion. It's not about giving up something, but about giving forward what you no longer need to someone who desperately does. One donor can save up to 8 lives and improve the quality of life for 75 more through tissue donation.
Our approach is built on three pillars:
Awareness
Educating communities about the facts, dispelling myths, and changing perceptions
Accessibility
Making donor registration simple, transparent, and accessible to everyone
Advocacy
Working with policymakers to create an enabling environment for organ donation
Challenges & Triumphs
The journey hasn't been easy. We faced cultural barriers, religious misconceptions, and systemic challenges. Many believed organ donation was against their faith or that it would disfigure the body. Some feared doctors wouldn't try to save them if they were registered donors.
But every challenge became an opportunity for education. We worked with religious leaders from all faiths, who confirmed that organ donation is consistent with the principles of compassion and service in every major religion. We collaborated with medical associations to develop transparent protocols.
"The most powerful moments have been when donor families meet recipients. Seeing a mother hug the person who received her son's heart - that's when you realize the true meaning of life after death."
Our Vision for India
To create an India where organ donation becomes a natural choice, where every citizen considers it their social responsibility, and where no one dies waiting for an organ transplant. We envision a future where the conversation about organ donation happens at every dinner table, in every classroom, and in every community gathering.
Join Our Movement
Every journey begins with a single step. Your decision to become an organ donor can be that step - for you, for your family, and for thousands of people waiting for a second chance at life.
